The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas has announced an open position for a Pro Se Law Clerk. The individual in this role will assist the court by providing legal advice and support related to petitions and complaints filed by prisoners who represent themselves.

Responsibilities for the Pro Se Law Clerk include reviewing all pro se prisoner petitions and motions, which covers both state and federal habeas corpus petitions as well as civil rights complaints. The clerk will conduct legal research, analyze cases, and draft opinions and orders for review by the court.

The position is intended to help manage the volume of filings from self-represented prisoners, ensuring that each case receives proper legal consideration.
