The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas announced on Apr. 6 that Mistee Aaron has been appointed as the new District Court Executive and Clerk of Court, with her official start date set for May 4, 2026. Until then, Aaron will serve as the Clerk of Court designee.

This appointment is significant for court administration in the district, ensuring continuity in leadership roles during a period of transition.

In addition to her new duties, Aaron has also been designated as Acting Chief Probation Officer effective immediately under Title 18 United States Code Section 3602. This interim role will continue until a permanent Chief Probation Officer is named.

All delegations of authority previously made by the Chief Judge to the Chief Probation Officer will remain in effect until a new appointment is made. The court emphasized that these measures are intended to maintain stable operations during this time.

The dual appointments reflect ongoing efforts within the district court to ensure consistent management and oversight across its key administrative functions.
